SMART Conference has implemented 3D Secure Authentication as required by law beginning April 2025.

◆ Common Causes of Authentication Errors and How to Resolve Them

Most issues can be resolved by referring to the following points and contacting your credit card issuer directly.

1. Incorrect Authentication Information
   →Double-check that the password or one-time passcode you entered is accurate.
2. Authentication Fails to Complete
   → Please contact your credit card issuer by phone and inform them that the authentication process is failing. Be prepared to provide the transaction amount and attempted date/time. Some issuers may be able to temporarily disable authentication to allow the transaction to go through.
3. Using a Corporate or Business Card
   → Certain corporate cards do not support 3D Secure Authentication, or may fail authentication if the cardholder and user are not the same individual. Contact your card issuer to confirm the card’s 3D Secure settings and availability.
4. Device or Network Issues
   → Make sure you are connected to a stable internet environment and using an up-to-date browser. Poor connectivity may cause session timeouts or unexpected errors.
5. Security Settings Blocking the Process
   → Your network or device security settings, especially on university or institutional networks, may be blocking the authentication process. If possible, try using a different device or network.

• Name of the conference
• Total payment amount
